Tomorrow we are starting our WordPress portfolio project. This will be using a version of WordPress that is customizable, unlike the free blog software that you’ve been using.

I am installing the WordPress today, and you may receive an email from Bluehost, our hosting company about it. If you do, don’t worry, we will address it tomorrow.

PLEASE REMEMBER: Bring in all of your portfolio images for the project. We will be learning more WordPress, using CSS to modify the WordPress templates and preparing for April 25 Open House.

We will NOT be using class time for Photoshop or design work, that will be done outside of work on your homework time. Class time will be used to learn and implement intermediate WordPress techniques only.

Any of the redesign projects not done at this point will be graded as is. During reading week and make-up days, you may opt to finish, upgrade or redo any of your previous sites for extra credit. The new grade will be averaged out with the existing one, hopefully leading to a higher grade.

For finals, the following will be expected:

—A finished and finessed final blog with all projects, assignments, pages and posts complete.
—All projects must be complete.
—Portfolio website must be complete.
—A one-week, single page “landing page assignment” will be given using a Dreamweaver or HTML template OR a WordPress Template. Details given April 28.
