Assignment
- Homework: create one complete web page for your author website project, complete with links, images, colors and images.
If you haven’t done so already, please upload your Photoshop “sketch” to your blog, so I may grade it. - Please refine your blog… add more images, create a post about your author assignment.
- Bring at least one “how do you do this?” question to class, and/or add a comment to this blog post.TRY IT YOURSELF! Theresa wanted to know how to add a Back to Top link on a long page. Here is a tutorial that shows how to use just that! This can be used to add a link anywhere in a page.
Resources:
As requested, you can find those easy rules I spoke of in class on this page Elementary Webdesign II. Please read thoroughly, keep on hand for reference, print out if necessary.
Also, remember, when using Dreamweaver in the lab, you must always set up your site first:
- Copy the site folder (author-site) onto the desk top. Disconnect your Flash drive before you do anything else
- Follow the directions from your notes in class, or use this video as a refresher IMPORTANT NOTE: you do not need to use the server instructions, you only need to use the first window, about 53 seconds worth of video.
- If you did it correctly, you should see the files in the Files window on the lower right, NOT the desktop of your computer.
- This only needs to be done on your personal computer once.
What’s coming next week? More CSS!!!
- Learning what those ‘divs’ are (header, footer, container)
- Making buttons
- Using Google fonts!!!!
- Finishing up websites
